EnergySage (Oct 2026) is based on quotes in its own marketplace. ConsumerAffairs (Aug 2026) doesn't say which source each number came from. SolarReviews runs about 20% higher, and its after-credit prices and payback still assume the federal credit and full retail net metering, which no longer apply to buyers here. We couldn't find a Las Vegas installer that publishes its prices.
Compare quotes by price per watt. Divide the price by the system size in watts. A $21,000 quote for 8 kW (8,000 watts) is $2.63 a watt.

Tax credit and payback
- The homeowner credit is gone. The IRS says the 25D credit isn't allowed for anything installed after December 31, 2025. It counts the date installation is finished, not the date you paid.
- Leases and PPAs are different. The company that owns the panels can still claim a credit if the system is in service by the end of 2027, per trade press. Some pass savings on, some don't, so compare the total you'll pay over the contract.
- Payback: EnergySage estimates about 17.9 years for a cash purchase in Las Vegas.
NV Energy and permits
- Export credit: new customers get Tier 4, 75% of the retail rate, locked for 20 years at that address, per the PUCN.
- Daily demand charge: set for Southern Nevada homes in January 2027 after another delay, and being fought in court. Details in NV Energy explained.
- Timeline: NV Energy says it's roughly six months from the first interconnection application to permission to turn the system on.
- City of Las Vegas permits: solar-only systems go through SolarAPP+, an automated same-day review with a $25 fee per design. Systems with a battery need a full plan review. We couldn't confirm the process in Henderson or Clark County.
Before you sign
- 3 business days to cancel. Nevada's SB 293 lets you cancel until midnight of the third business day, including by email. The company also has to record a walkthrough of the terms before install starts.
- Warranties: the PUCN's Renewable Energy Bill of Rights requires at least 10 years on installation and roof work. Purchases also get at least 10 years on panels and batteries and 7 on inverters.
- Check the license and the watch list. Only Nevada-licensed contractors can sell or install solar. The Contractors Board says nearly a third of its complaints are about solar companies, and it keeps a Solar Watch List of companies with 5+ open complaints. Look up any company with our contractor check guide.
- Pitch numbers can be inflated, the Nevada Attorney General warns. Solar reps aren't from the government or NV Energy, and you'll still get a power bill. Get every promise in writing.
