Permits and soft water loops

Watch for pushy in-home sales

Water treatment is often sold door to door. In 2024 the FTC sued Aqua Finance over dealers who went door to door deceiving people about financing for water softening and filtering systems. The settlement included $20 million in refunds. LVVWD has also warned about people trying to get into homes for fake water surveys, and says its employees never collect payment at your home.

Before you sign: get the system's price in writing apart from any financing, get two or three quotes, and check the installer's Nevada license. You already know your hardness: 16 grains, from the water district's own report.
