Slab leaks and leak help

Slab leaks are leaks in pipes under your concrete foundation. Las Vegas plumbers say hard water wears on copper pipes and fittings, and that local soils make leaks worse. That comes from companies that sell the repair, and we haven't found an independent source on how common slab leaks are here. The two fixes: break the slab to repair the spot (direct access), or run new pipe around it (reroute), which costs more but avoids the jackhammer.

Water pressure and PRVs

LVVWD says water pressure in its system runs about 30 to 100 psi, and sustained pressure over 80 psi can damage your plumbing. If your static pressure is over 80 psi, the homeowner is responsible for installing and maintaining a pressure reducing valve (PRV). Most plumbers set them at 35 to 60 psi. A PRV replacement runs about $300 to $650 nationally, and a Las Vegas landlord reported paying $275 in 2022.
